Where to put a smartshunt.

Best place to integrate non-victron 48V device for state of charge to be shown on Cerbo.

One side multiplus2+MPPT-48-100+48VsmartLi Battery+cerbo+ve-bms.

The other side a non-victron inverter running off the 48V battery.

Two places for the smartshunt.

1) In battery lead so sees all battery current.

2) In inverter lead to monitor non-victron product(s).

Will either of these result on a correct SoC on the Cerbo?

Which would be preferred?

Option 1 is the only option that provides you an SOC reading. Option 2 would work as a DC current meter, but then you're not actually monitoring your battery SOC.

1) In neg supply just before battery lead so sees all battery current .and correct SoC on the Cerbo? multiplus2 can supply Cerbo with current in and out + MPPT too you can use DC power supply dash board as Vos work out the math from information supply over VE bus

Hi Guys,

thank you for your answers. Can I tell the cerbo that the shunt is directly connected to total battery current and that it should ONLY use this for calculating SoC? I can't see an appropriate way, but then until the shunt is installed the Cerbo may noy show these options. Anyone know?
