Energy meter compatibility

Hello folks,

the compatibility list is limited to the Carlo Gavazzi brand. Is there any particular reason for this? I plan to install in an existing system where there is already an energy meter. In principle, do other energy meters that support RS485 Modbus RTU and are MID compliant to this also work?

In the Energy Meter Manual I found a FAQ. Energy Meter Manual

What is so special about them?

Whouldn't for example this model be compatible? Wago Energiemeter (MID)

There isn't a standard communication protocol between the different meter manufacturers. The link layer many be the same (RS485) but the messages are different from one manufacturer to another.

Support for ABB B series meters has been added in Venus v2.92
