Can a SmartShunt be used to measure AC current and voltage?

Hello @Daniel123b ...the smartshunt is designed to read DC voltage and current levels, not AC. If we sense DC current a current flow one way reads as a positive flow (charging) and a current flow the other way reads as a negative flow (discharging).

Now consider what would happen for an AC current. Half a cycle of charging, half a cycle of discharging. No matter how much current flows in any direction the sum over time would be zero. The shunt would say zero current is flowing no matter what.
