I have a system with a generator and of course it may also be connected to grid. Does the MuliPlus have a built in trnasfer switch to detect and switch?
If not how can this be done? Using the MultiPlus 3000VA 24V Unit

MultiPlus' only have one AC input. You'll need an external transfer switch to switch between the sources.
The Quattro has two AC inputs and can switch between the AC sources internally.
The multiplus has a 3000VA, but in fact 2500W. At 2500W @ 120V = 20A, not 30A needed by RV. Do you know why this seems to work? (Or does it?)

3KVA MultiPlus has a peak power of 6000W for a short time. It depends if the RV 30A load is continuous or only for short bursts.
If 30A is a continuous load then you will need more inverter capacity or use two same units in a parallel configuration to get more power.
