Settings for mppt75/15 and DC to DC 30amp charger connected to 200a/h gel.

Am about to wire up the camper auxiliary battery, and wondering what's the best charge parameters to use without causing damage to the battery.

@AndrewSpark

Look at the specifications of your battery from its manufacturer. Program that into the mppt.

The amps are up to you to set based on the max the battery can take and balance that against the max the the DC to DC is doing with the added mppt. like 30 plus 15 amps if the battery is well down then you have to allow for average draw as well

Another way is to say sett the mppt to a lower voltage than the DC to DC so that it turns off, but that still does not limit the max amps when the battery is down.

otherwise change the battery to Lithium and then the battery charge limit is not overly affected/ as lithium can usually take a charge rate equal to there load output, usually and also depending on brand specs, anyway the limit is much higher than L/A batteries
