CCGX and Router

Hello,

we have installed a CCGX on a off-grid site with a router Dlink DWR921. The two devices are connected with ethernet cable.

The router works with DHCP and CCGX is configured to obtain an automatic IP.

We can see that the router give an IP on the network and recognize the CCGX , the CCGX try to obtain this adress but doesn't achieve and stay unlogged.

We have tried to give a static IP but the CCGX doesn't accept it.

Do you have any idea to resolve this issue?

Sorry for my English!

Thanks.

It is usually quite good with DHCP.
When you say it "doesn't accept it" for manual IP, what do you mean by this?
What details are you putting there for static IP?

We can write the adress but when we validate it, the CCGX doesn't save it and display no adress. We have the same problem with the gateway or submask.

I'm trying to figure out why it doesn't validate it.
Can you tell me exactly what address you are trying to enter including Subnet Mask and Gateway.
I think it will only accept Private IP addresses (RFC1918) and the Subnet Mask must be correct too.

Is there other equipment like a laptop of phone on that same network which is working?

Thank you for your answer WKirby.

Yes, we have a laptop on the network to configure the router.

CCGX works with version 2.23

Here you will find some photos of our proceed with DHCP:

The router find the CCGX and give it an adress:

Parameter of LAN

Connectivity of the router:

Configuration IP:

The CCGX try to extract the adress:

Then, it come back to this screen:

We have tried to give it a static IP with this configuration but CCGX doesn't save it and come back to "0":

IP: 192.168.0.50

Submask : 255.255.255.0

Gateway : 192.168.0.1

Thanks

Everything you are doing seems to be OK. It's a strange problem.
Something is broken somewhere.

Next options:
1) Re-image the device, if you feel confident doing this:
https://www.victronenergy.com/live/ccgx:firmware_upgrade_to_v2
If you are not happy to do this then do option 2.

2) RMA the device.

One thing you might try is to shutdown everything, including the router for a few minutes. Then first start the router, let it initialize, and then start the Victron equipment. Sometimes this works.

Also, in the DHCP setup in your router you should be able to make the DHCP address assignment for the CCGX permanent. That way you don't have to worry about the CCGX changing IP addresses when it set on "Automatic".

Just a thought,

Pat

Just another thing that came into my mind:

Try another LAN cable. Maybe the one you use is broken, bent or has a short somehow.

Best Regards,

Markus
