Lithium Super Pack only 70A discharge current?

so with a limit of 70A discharge current given in the datasheet.. it‘s Not possible to use e.g. a multiplus 2K at 200Ah „Superpack“ ?

are you joking?

This is not strange, to have a higher discharge current you need cooling for the cells, and a bigger / more expensive BMS to handle the current.

At 70 A, a 200 Ah battery is empty in 3 hours, most battery packs are designed for a longer discharge time.

For high power battery packs there are other solutions, like the Lithium-ion HE series. these have build in cooling, and no silicon disconnect BMS inside.

This highlights the division between batteries with built-in BMS and batteries using external BMS.

By comparison, a Victron 200 AH LFP Smart battery has a continuous discharge specification of 200-amps (1C rate) and a maximum discharge spec of 400-amps (2C rate). This battery could be used with a 2,000 VA inverter charger and meet both continuous and peak load demands. A 200-AH Super Pack battery would most likely trip the BMS system.

Specifying the battery bank will take into account both the desired capacity and the required continuous and maximum charge/discharge current ratings.

For example, a 4WD canopy application that powers say lights and a fridge would be well suited to a Super Pack battery. A marine application with an inverter charger and the requirement of using the house bank as a backup for engine starting would use the LFP Smart battery with external BMS.

Welk, just My opinion: short-time high current availability is a must. (Not only in marine usage. ) There are a lot of Applications for that, and batteries in that expansive range should deliver that.

Not all batteries are equal, as with anything you'll have to configure a system for a certain task. You can have a wider range of tasks, but you'll have to configure on the maximum power and capacity needed.

For high power applications, you generally don't want a battery with a build in disconnect.
