Is it OK to simply change the default SOC bulk parameter setting (85%) in VEConfigure3 to a higher value, say 95% or even higher?
Probably not. A lead battery is typically around 85% full by the time the system switches from bulk to absorption.
Allow me to ask here another question that might also be relevant... 85% or 95% of what capacity? In the same menu in VE configure where this is set, the battery capacity should be the C10, C100 or other value? If incorrectly filled, this will have also the same effect in wrong SOC values...
You can but you'll risk boiling off your electrolytes.
