Soc on MPPT's with a load output?

The small mppt units with a load output seem to have all the data required to monitor SOC. yet the units do not offer this feature.

Is it possible for victron to look into this via software update? Is there space left in the micro?

Even if its not as accurate as a BMV/Smart shunt it would be handy for small remote monitoring/lighting/camera sites, where a BMV is overkill.

Hi @Alan

I have been wondering about that myself and would also like to use such a feature.

It shouldn't be too hard to make something useful by implementing a coulomb counter running on VenusOS which then presents itself as a battery monitor to VenusOS (and VRM). The catch is that this does require adding a RPi (or VenusGX) running VenusOS, which in my case is already there (for remote monitoring).

I'm tempted (fun project) but unfortunately don't have time at the moment.

cheers,
Jan
