The batteries do not take charge from the generator if one of the phases is missing

We have ESS system with

1. Victron Quattro 48/15000/200 - 6 pcs.

2. Victron SmartSolar MPPT VE.Can 250/100 - 8 pcs.

3. Victron Cerbo GX + GX Touch 50

4. BMZ ESS 9.0 - 9 pcs.

5. Fronius Symo 10.0-3-M - 1 pc.

We have installed a 3-phase Quatro system, where the Generator is controlled by the Cerbo GX panel. In the house where our client lives, one of the phases often disappears from the external network. The system is set to "Switch as group".

In the system, the 1st phase is the Master. The problem is that when the 2nd or 3rd phase disappears, the system starts to operate on batteries and when the battery SOC at 50%, the generator starts. But the Victron system does not charge the battery at this time, so the batteries are discharged further and the house is turned off. At the same time, the generator runs idle. But when the master phase disappears or all three at once, the Victron system picks up the battery charge without any problems.

We could not solve the problem and found a temporary solution.

We added a relay to the system, which detects the loss of one phase and immediately cuts off the other 2. So now Victron system see disappear of all three phases at once. And it works ok.

Still we want to deal with this issue for future projects. Well, after fixing this problem, we got the second problem :(

I asked about here:

https://community.victronenergy.com/questions/74531/early-start-the-generator-from-cerbo-gx-before-rea.html

Excellent system, but unlucky, as there are many problems that need to be solved very quickly :(

Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi @alex_solar

I think the best option here is to swap inputs, end connect the generator to input 1, as that has priority.

Is that the real reason why the batteries don`t take a charge from Generator? Also we may have several risks when the Generator on AC in 1. For example: when the SOC is 50%? Cerbo GX start the generator, but it turns out that the generator is broken. So the batteries goes down and finally the system switchs off. A few hours later, the network was repaired and power was supplied again. But the system won't start. (Generator still not working). How should we act in this case?
