AC monitoring of Latronics inverter

Hi, I am gradually upgrading various components of my system with Victron units. I have a BMV-712 and two SmartSolar 150/60 charge controllers. These are connected to a Pi2, which posts live info onto the VRM Portal. Very pleased with the results.

My question is, is there a straight forward way of monitoring the ac output of my Latronics Inverter with some sort of current sensor that can communicate its readings via VE Direct into the Pi2?

Thanks Gordon

Hi,

yes, you can monitor PV inverter using an energy meter. Not via Ve.direct though, but via USB to RS485 converter, or via LAN.

See here: Energy Meters start page [Victron Energy]

Best Regards,

Markus

I have to add: you can measure PV inverters that way only. Not a battery inverter. The battery inverter has to be a Victron type (Multiplus or Phoenix) to have it's output monitored properly by your Venus RPi.
