I have a Smart Solar 100/20 which stops charging when temperatures reach 35-40C. This is a replacement for one that exhibited the same issue. The charger is showing in a bulk or Absorption State, good incoming voltage but 0 charge. Battery voltage and loads are updating correctly so its not as if it totally locked up. Resetting the charger will temporarily restore function for maybe half hour. Have checked all cables and they look good. Any ideas will be appreciated as I'm out of options.
Hi could you please advise what the voltage setting are inside the unit, As you have bluetooth connected version then some screen shots of the setting and the history screen would be good.
I am suspecting that you unit is getting to a bulk/ absorption voltage of 14.2 or what ever the setting is and then the amps will reduce to zero if the batteries are full.
I have actually posted some screen shots on another forum looking for answers.
It is working fine on cooler days and spends most of its time at float during the day. Once the temperature gets a bit warmer, and it is summer, it starts to play up. I wouldn't have been suprised with some derating but this is just a complete lack of any charge.
24v system with Absorption set to 28.8v and float 27.6v
