mppt charger in parallel not syncronized

we have a system composed by two victron mppt charger working in parallel not syncronized as per victron datasheet . in this case the charging phase of the two charger will be not the same.it is safe for the battery?what do you suggest?

@corpa

By synchronized, are you expecting that the chargers go 50/50 on the charging load?

Are they connected to each other in some way to enable communication?

I have not had a problem with overcharging or undercharging, if that is what you are asking

the two mppt (150/60 and 150/70) will be connected to two PV panel system and will charge a 48 V battery system.

since they are not synchronized, they could not follow the same phase of charge. could it be a potential problem for the system?

thanks

The system will not work optimally in this way. what will happen is you can end up with one unit on bulk and the other on absorbtion or float as they detect the voltage. This could end up with the batteries either taking longer to reach 100% soc of charge or them never reaching 100 soc. By syncronising you ensure the charges are at the same stage there by optimising the charging.

since they woptking in parallel and connect to a battery sytem,they should detect the same voltage,the battery..or not?

No, only if you use a Smart Battery Sense, or a BMV networked to your battery.

Hi @corpa

What kind of batteries are you using, and what problems are you experiencing?

we are in design phase and try to underatand what could be the potential problems that we can have in our sytem, since the two MPPT cannot work synchronize
