a friend of mine would like to build an ESS but is a little bit short on money. So i would like to ask: Which is the smallest device supporting ESS ?
Theoretically you can use a MultiPlus 500VA for that, but as warwick wrote, in most countries you will need a additional anti-islanding-relay.
This will cost you 400-500€. That + the cost of the small Multi and you could just buy a MultiPlus-II 3000VA with an internal anti-islanding-relay.
But you may need a MultiPlus II in certain countries to legally connect to the Grid.
