USB GPS detected but not working on Venus

Hi

I'm running Venus firmware V2.6 and today I plugged in a USB GNSS Receiver (Navilock NL-602U u-blox 6).

The OS has recognized the GPS but still after 2 hours still no GPS fix.

So does anyone has suggestion on how to fix.

Hi @philippe, maybe try to move the antenna so if can have a clear view of the sky? Or try it on a laptop. There are some opensource windows navigation programs, like "opencpn". You can then test the GNSS receiver. If it works on your laptop, then the question is if your GNSS is compatible with Victron hardware.

Hi Rob,

No laptop with Windows running. But a the first glance, the led is blinking when I plugged it in the car USB on the way back and also on my iMac, what is a change in behaviour. When it was on the Venus (fix led) Need to dig it further out, but I suspect that the Venus OS has a problem with....

Thanks

Hi Rob

Got it talking with the opencpn via the serial datatport /dev/cu.usbmodem14401 (u-blox 6 -GPS receiver) @ 4800 baud rate.

So the device works correctly. Just a bit of the log....

Looking for advice why Venus does not deal with it as expected.

Hi

This is now solved. I have plugged it back in the Venus GX as hot swap (unplugged from an active GPS fix on macbook) and it worked straight forward.

Regards,

Philippe

Buongiorno, anche io ho problemi con il GPS collegato al CERBO. Fino a poco tempo fa funzionava correttamente ma sulle ultime versioni ho lo stesso problema di Filippo.
