Data Logging on External card not working ? FW 2.60

Hi everyone ! Not sure if I am missinhg something or misunderstood the way the data logging works with the Cerbo GX FW 2.60 and external storage. As you can see, the MicroSD 32GB is perfectly detected, but no record seems to be stored on it

The data is correctly sent to the VRM portal every minute, so not sure if the SD card is automatically flushed when the data is transferred to the VRM.

It will be interesting having it also stored on the MicroSD, so the data can be analyzed with other tools.

Thanks, Michel

Same here with Color Control GX, Will like to have more info about how it's work...losing internet connection for 8 hours last night, all data are showing right on VRM during the laps time of the internet shut down,,,look like there is a back up memory on the portal for short time internet breakdown...but still not data at all on my SD card ???...I share same idea than @kevinvh, will be great to have both data recording simultaneously on VRM & SD card to be bullet proof !!! Thanks for the one will take time to enlighten us on this subject !!! Happy 2022

The venus GX datasheet has a nice concise description.

Data logging:

When connected to the internet, all data is sent to the VRM Portal. When there is no internet connection available, the Venus GX will store the data internally, up to 48 hours. By inserting a micro SD-card or USB stick, more data can be stored. These files can then be uploaded to the VRM Portal, or offline converted with the VictronConnect app, for analysis.

Is the data automatically erased from the micro-sd card when it is uploaded to the VRM Portal?

I have exactly the same situation as described by michelg. I am connected to the VRM Portal constantly, and my micro-SD card shows that there are no saved files.

I would like to keep the files on the micro-sd card for later analysis on my MacBook Pro. Is there a way of doing this?

Can anyone answer these two questions please? Not sure if I have a problem writing to the micro-sd card, if there is a fault with my CCGX, or if the system is erasing the data after it is uploaded to the VRM Portal. I have tried 3 different micro-sd cards - same result.

Answer for @kevinvh I got some time to play with my system in the last few days, & I got answer for you...As long as you got internet coverage, no record will be stored on you SD card, if your internet shut down,, data will start to be recorded on your card & you can see the number of record on your GX device under VRM online portal section....As soon your internet connection recover, all data are automatically swap from the card & send into the VRM portal (i'm just not sure how much time of card recording data can be send into the portal this way)....If your internet connection never recover, eject you SD card the right way, plug it into a computer & open victron connect app. On the upper left 3 bar menu you will find the option Venus log converter...open the file found in your SD card with it & you will have acces to an Excel sheet with all your precious data on it !!! Hope this may help you, & if someone find some error on what I try to explain here, don't hesitate to comment...always ready to learn!!

That's a usefull feature! Nice!.

I'd like to know how much data or how many days can be swapped from SD-card to the VRM-portal if Internet coverage is recovered. Any Victron specialist knows the answer?
