Battery Protect for controlling dump load

I am intending in the future to utilise my excess solar in my van setup to run an immersion heater. Unfortunately due to the layout I cannot easily install any more control cables to utilise the Multiplus / MPPT outputs to control the dumpload.

I have been thinking about using an Smart Battery Protect to operate once over a certain voltage, and also to disconnect the load when underneath the float voltage settings from the MPPT.

With the adjustment the Smart battery protect allows with regards to cut in / cut out voltages I am thinking this will allow plenty of scope for a good working setup.

Has anyone done this, or know of any potential problems in using one in this way?

Many thanks

This is exactly what I am hoping to achieve as well, did you ever find an answer?
