Older Multiplus with 123BMS

Good morning.

I have a slightly older and very excellent Multiplus 12/1600/70A with latest (for this model) v1906209 firmware and no Aux I/O connector.

Does anybody know if I can still use the 'Two-signal BMS Support' assistant and the 'temp sense' input on this model to completely shutdown the Multiplus in extreme high/low battery condition? Seems possible from the two-signal document but this description only covers the later model with Aux I/O connector. Looking to use a 123BMS.

Many thanks, Ian.

SV Gabrielle.

Yes you can set it up in that way. (I have it just like that, same setup)

It is not without quirks though. SOC calculation is very different compared to Victron SmartShunt for instance and (at least with gen2 of this 123BMS) the low temp failsafe will trigger both charge and discharge relays in the BMS so practically useless.

New firmware for 123BMS Gen3 has two separate trigger temperature settings.

One for charging and one for discharging.
