Quattros cannot connect to grid when the grid operator swap 2 phases.

Hello everyone,

After installing a 3-phase AC coupled system with 6 quattros an a PV inverter connected to AC out of Quattros, we realised that the Quattros cannot connect to grid (AC in1) when the grid operator swap 2 phases. The problem is that the grid operator often swap phases during maintenance of electrical network, and after which the quattros cannot connect anymore to Grid when energy comes back. Is there anyway to change setting of quattro so that they can still connect to grid even if the operator swap 2 phases?

Hi @guenserge

The Quattro's don't like it when the phase rotation is wrong. You have two options to sort it out, either get the phase rotation right from the utility side (change cables around at utility feed-in). Or you can re-program the system in the configurator.

You also need to make sure that all grid meters etc are measured correctly as programmed and connected. Using the programming option you need to make notes of which utility phase is L1, L2, and L3 for the Quattro.

Traditionally L1 = Red, L2=White, L3=Blue.

But you can endup with the situation where L1=Blue, L2 = White and L3 = Red.

So, in essence, it is easier to change the utility phases around unless the building contains 3phase motors which would need to be re-commissioned because they will turn the wrong way around once the phases are swopped. If you have motors inside the building probably better to re-program the Quattro's such that L1 = White/Blue etc.
