I have just had a new Solar PV system installed. It uses a Victron Multiplus 24/5000 Inverter/Charger and a BMV712. I want to buy a Venus GX. Can someone tell me if all the cables etc. necessary to connect the system together are supplied with the Venus
Hello, with venus you don't get any cables. You need them buy extra. You get all the stuff to mount it on the wall, but no cables (only powercable with fuse). Just let me know here what parts do you have in your system (inverter, MPPT, battery and so on) to give you all cables you need.

I am new to solar systems so I dont know a great deal about them yet, however I was a computer engineer so I am a bit of a techie.
Hello, you will need:
1. MPPT to Venus (https://www.victronenergy.com/cables/ve.direct.cable) in case of regular victron MPPT (I don't know the huber)
2. battery to venus (temperature sensor - this was attatched to victron multiplus, if you don't have it anymore use https://www.victronenergy.co.za/accessories/temperature%20sensor%20qua%20pmp%20venus%20gx)
3. Multiplus to victron (regular ethernet cable)
4. BMV to Venus (https://www.victronenergy.com/cables/ve.direct.cable). I believe when you use this one, you don't need number 1 and 2.
IF you are now good with BMV than buy just one direct cable (https://www.victronenergy.com/cables/ve.direct.cable) and one ethernet cable (Regular RJ45 UTP cable) and you good to go. The direct cable connect to BMV and VE.Direct of Venus and ethernet cable - one end to multiplus other one to VE.Can of Venus)
