How to view Color Controller data on VRM portal and also collect data on an external device via modbus?

Is it possible to view inverter data on vrm portal and also have the color controller send data to another external device via modbus. The color controller only seems to have one ethernet port. If I use this ethernet port to send data to the external device, is there a way to also view this data on vrm portal (say via wifi or some other way?)

Hi,

Yes - completely possible. Ethernet is the physical layer. the Modbus/TCP protocol will use the same physical port, but use a different port number (usually 502 for Modbus/TCP but can be different). I'm actually using the Venus GX, and read/write data on Modbus/TCP (port 502) but also read data from a Teltonika modem, also on Modbus/TCP, but using port 512. All of this happens whilst VRM is being updated at the same time. Several protocols can exist on the same physical layer, as long as the relevant port numbers are used to 'separate' the different data protocols.

Hope this helps.
