I am looking to purchase two Inverter VE.Direct 48v 1200va inverters. Can these inverters be configured in parallel to provide 240vac split phase for a pump? If so how do you configure them and is there any other hardware/software required.

No, only the older inverters with VE.Bus can be configured for parallel, three-phase or split-phase.
