VE.Bus BMS V2

Hi,

is there any risk to connect LiFe-PO4 batteries with only battery BMS connections (no power supply on VE.Bus BMS)

Thanks for your help.

Regards.

Bruno.

@Cargol66 I would think your batteries are at risk not having an operational BMS.

The BMS needs to be functional to switch loads / chargers off should the battery voltage or temp go high or low.

Thanks for your reply.

Of course a BMS will be used to monitor the batteries. My question was: during wiring, is there any ordrer to respect while connecting BMS? Should taps first or last after BMS power supply be connected ?

in order to wire safely the BMS.

Hello,

After a few days running, i'm a bit disappointed about informations you can get through VRM: impossible to get battery cells Voltages and temperature. Much electronics and you cannot see what's comming on inside the batteries... another concern is voltage unbalance between batteries (two brand new 25,6 V 200Ah smart a Victron LiFe-PO4 batteries). At the end of charge. About 1 V difference between two batteries. Is it normal ? Is there any chance to reduce this gap ?

Please confirm if you have your batteries in series or parallel.

Please refer to the LBS manual. You have to fully charge each individual battery until the individual batteries report "balanced" in Victron Connect.
