Recovering a 12-220 Gel battery

I have inherited a Victron Gel 12-220 monster of a battery that does not look to be very old.

In my application I am using the battery to deliver a constant 25 amps. However it only runs for about 1 hour at 25 amps and then the voltage drops quickly to 10.6V and the system shuts down. As the current drops to <2 amps, the voltage recovers to 12.4V

I would have expected the battery to deliver 25 amps for about 4 or 5 hours.

I use a Victron IP22 12/30 4 stage charger to keep the battery charged.

Is the battery faulty - is there something I can do to recondition or restore it?

Thanks for any help.

Hi @Steve Congrave

It sounds like the battery is dead, and no there is no way to recover dead batteries.
