MultiPlus 500VA - 1600VA & starter battery charging & Smart alternator

Hi,

is it possible to charge starter battery via the 1 A output of MultiPlus 500 VA - 1600 VA ?

The car (the new VW multivan) has a smart alternator and measures current flow from/to the starter battery via the onboard shunt. So I'd assume it will just "see" the inflow current and deal with it OK.

If connected correctly and the multiplus is also a 12V unit, yes.
