Three phase output configuration on Quattro's with single phase input

Good day,

Is there any issue by setting up several units of Quattros in three phase for an ESS system but with AC input from a single phase configuration?

This is because is intended to run three phase motors.

Regards.

This can be done by turning off switch as group when setting up the system, and connecting the grid to only one of the Quattros. The AC inputs of the other two Quattros would not be connected to anything.

The unit connected to the grid will pass through power to loads on that phase when grid is present. The other two units will always run in inverting mode, powering the loads on those phases from the battery bank.

Be advised that only the Quattro connected to the grid will charge the battery bank.

If needed you could supplement battery charging from the grid with an AC charger such as Skyla, etc.

Also the ESS assistant will not be an option anymore. But that's ok if you are only connected to a power in source on one inverter.

@Alexandra :(. Isn't there any way to configure the system as selfconsumption?

@dgmar_ni

You would either have to clever it with node red, or use AC ignore.N ot something I have looked into with a bigger system such as yours.

A much simpler way to charge from a single phase would be to use inverters/chargers specifically for that, as the generator does not support the three phase loads anyway. (So yes more units)

Then you can ESS of grid as normal.

Thank you @Kevin Windrem for your response. In my case there will be 9 units of 10kW considered for the design as shown:

In that case only three inverters will have the input connected and six will run as inverter?

Yes, and make sure the AC input to those 6 inverters not on the single phase pass are not connected to the single phase distribution panel.
