We have a Quattro three phase system with Ac coupled Fronius inverter with about 23.9 Kwp Pv, Cerbo Gx, 3 Victron mppts, and 8pcs Weco 5K3 - XP lithium batteries installed in February 2023. Two days ago, we upgraded the storage system by adding 5 more same type Weco 5K3 - XP batteries and connected them to same Dc Busbar as earlier batteries. Of course we updated firmware of all 13 batteries to match each other. Then we also updated all the Quattro inverters to the latest available firmware 2655506. the Cerbo Gx is also on its latest firmware available.

Starting yesterday 12th September 2023 daytime, the VRM portal started popping up the alarm “Battery monitor [512]: High Voltage Alarm.Alarm”

Online research in the live community shows that this maybe due to the new batteries that may be undergoing balancing for the internal individual cells.

Is the alarm due to the new firmware 2655506 ?

When we check the Bms section in the Cerbo console, the battery system shows like the cells voltage difference is very little at about 3millivolts, and also that the Weco system voltage at that time was 53.10V, well inside its specifications. And note that Weco internal BMS system controls (regualates) its own charging automatically.

So where is this high voltage alarm coming from and it’s the first time it has ever occurred since the system was installed in February?

It is related to the Quattro latest firmware 2655506 ?

We can wait for say a few more days and see if it will disappear, but will it go away on its own ?

Check the communication (and addressing where applicable) among the Weco battery packs and between the hub and the Cerbo GX including the integrity of interconnecting communication cables. This seems to be a Weco communication issue.

Hi,

The communication cables between the 13 weco batteries are ok. There is no HUB, since we have 13 batteries. As per Weco manual, the 13 batteries form a single cluster and last battery has jumper 6 enabled ok.

So unless there could be a cell with high voltage inside one of the batteries probably raising that alarm....
