EasySolar-II GX additional MPPT via VE.Direct

There are variations of this question out there, would like to be get more specific answer.

Can we connect to EasySolar-II GX additional MPPT (MPPT has VE.Direct) directly to available VE.Direct port on the ES-2-GX unit, without going through USB. If Yes, will it be fully managed and available on GX unit and later available on VRM?

If not, what is the purpose of VE.Direct port available on ES-2-GX?

In short, yes as long as DVCC is enabled.

So that takes up the GX device's external VE.Direct port, meaning you cannot use a BMV with this arrangement.

I thought the point would be to use the BMV to sense the combined current of both MPPTs so as to not overload the battery?

Yes. But the EasySolar is an all in one designed to simplify life. If you want multiple MPPTs, probably better to go with separate units, e.g. Multiplus, MPPTs, smart shunt and either Cerbo or Ekrano to control the system.
