Electric shock hazard

It surprises me that the Victron shunt for 702 or 712 display is not supplied in a box so it can not be touched and electronics are protected agains humidity. I aware of the fact that the shunt is mounted on de (-) side of a battery pack so I think it can be touched as long as you do not touch the (+) at the same time. However I'm not convinced there is no electric shock hazard and it's safe to touch the shunt under all conditions. Can somebody explain? Thanks in advance.

Your whole installation is connected to negative and has no need for insulation. All bare metal parts on most cars for instance. Mine's never shocked me or anyone else.

There is also an IP65 rated smart shunt so if humidity is a concern then the product choice should reflect that design consideration.
