We have tried to use Global Link 520 with solar (+batteries and SmartSolar 100/20 ) for an Osprey nest camera.
We already have second unit because the first was not functioning: it did not cut the power.
Well, we returned it and got a new one: same thing. Does not cut the power.
We would need this function because here in Finland the sun is not enough strong to keep the router and camera 24/7 on...and the router/camera needs to be booted once a while.
PROBLEM SOLVED:
This made Global Link to function.
VRM has the preset that BlueTooth is enabled.
I was using both Bluetooth and VRM when testing.
When giving the command by BlueTooth the VRM does not cut the streaM, even if it says it is cut.
Solution: I gave the command via VRM to disable Bluetooth.
When the BlueTooth was disabled, I gave a new command to open via VRM and now it is working fine.
Perhaps the Global manual should say:
DO NOT USE BLUETOOTH AND VRM simultaneusly!
