Is there benefit's from changing default Smart Lithium settings?

As Victron have set the default settings for Smart Lithium 48v batteries. Absorption 56.80v Float 54.00v. Is it the case the charger will not kick in to charge till the batteries drop below 54.00v, Absorption time 2Hr. In some cases that could take quite a lot of time, time where the sun has set and there for a loss solar. Would changing this volt settings and bringing the Absorption and Float voltages closer together be of any benefit, or in the long term would it cause battery issues.

@Tighernan

The question is, are you using Victron lithiums?

If yes, then the setting is what they recommend for their batteries - keep it.

If not, then you can alter it to match what the manufacturer recommends.

Absorption does not use alot of amps or power, it is for balancing so quite a necessary part of the charge cycle.
