Missing LoRaWAN data

Hello,

We're running a number of installations with the VE.Direct LoRaWAN modules, but have found that we stop receiving data in the vrm portal for several days/weeks at a time.

The LoRaWAN modules are located quite close to the LoRa gateways (In the gateway installation), and we do have other LoRa devices nearby which are able to successfully send data to TTN. We have found that resetting the modules does not seem to help, but that if we wait long enough the data begins being recorded again.

When reset, the LED on the modules starts blue then goes green. Unfortunately the installations are reasonably remote, so we cannot easily test this.

We're at a bit of a loss as to what could be the problem, and oddly the data from the LoRaWAN modules tends to stop within an hour or two of each-other. Is this likely to be an issue with the gateways? Or is this something on the TTN-Victron side?

Thanks,

Matt.

Hi Matthew,

I checked your portal; and for some reason it says `custom` for the firmware version:

To be totally honest, I don't know what 'custom' means.

End of last year, we released a new version that fixes a few issues. Version v1.05. Copy & paste from the change log:

"Note: all units with versions earlier than v1.05 have been recalled for a free software upgrade; due to the issue that they stop transmitting after a while. How long it takes before they stop transmitting varies; and is typically between 12 and 60 days.".

See https://professional.victronenergy.com for the full change log.

Our service department will contact you for a replacement.

Once updated, the VRM Portal will read like this:
