Ve.Bus intermittent low battery alarm and high DC Ripple

Ve.Bus (275) intermittent low battery alarm and high DC Ripple using Blue Nova Lithium batteries although the battery voltage is ok both on the Battery Voltage and Current (512) and VE.Bus DC Voltage and Current (276). I get the alarm intermittently when grid is lost momentarily. No Battery Warning and Alarm (512) is raised. This issue causes the inverter to switch to off and then restart.

As someone who has installed a few of the BN. Take it in it likely has a problem. Assuming all the other parts of your system has been installed to Victron Spec.

The only other thing I have seen cause the issue is a breaker in-between the battery and the inverter.

Hi Alexandra. Thank you for your response. We have installed 100's of Victron inverters with BN batteries and have had similar issues from time to time with BN firmware. I am starting to think its caused by the BMS. We have had a inverter fail onsite and whilst the RMA procedure was followed we had a temp inverter installed with the same issues. Now with the replacement 3rd inverter installed the DC issues have reappeared. We have checked the DC cabling, lugs and fusing which are all to Victron specification. Pulling my hair out..... very frustrating.

Not sure if you resolved this.

Stripped one BN totally found loose bus bars on cells in third box in the stack. DC ripple sorted.

@Anacrhy2007

The SSS even the first versions were supposed to handle at least C10 charge.

I can only give my input from my experience. In my case it is the BMS bombing out due to (I think) high charge current. Changing charge current well below C0.3 seemd to have resolved the issue

*EDIT:
Just incase I wasn't clear, my BMS (Pylontech Force L1) has a problem hence the reason it works when the charge rate is set lower. This BMS is supposed to handle constant charge and disdcharge currents of C0.5 (5KW) and inrush of C1 (10KW) max. However I noted that when charging or discharging above 2.5KW I get the DC Ripple notification and then the low battery voltage alarm from VRM. The reason for the low battery alarm is due to the BMS tuirning off.
