Should Multiplus charging amps be reflected on BMV?

I have the Mutiplus 2000 and Smart BMV 712. My question is, when the Multiplus is charging, should I see the charging amps reflected in the BMV monitor? I can see the Bulk and Absorption voltage increases, but as far as amps I only see the normal draw - e.g. -10A. When my solar or alternators are charging I can see an increase in Amps on the BMV. So, I would think that I should see the same when the Multiplus charger is on. Is that correct? Am I missing something?

If the current is passing through the BMV, yes.

Is the MP connected to the load/system side of the shunt?

The BMV shunt should be the only thing connected to the battery bank (-) terminal with all loads/sources/chassis ground connected to the other side of the BMV shunt.
