Multi plus II firmware update, are settings reset to default?

I've read that if I updated my multi plus II firmware I will have to reprogram the inverter. What's the best way to save the current settings and restore them after a FW update? I have a Cerbo GX, a Windows PC and Laptop available. Also several Android devices I can use for programming. I also have a MK3.

Just follow the process from Victron connect, it will let you save your configuration and then reapply it.

Can also be done remotely, if you have access:

Updating VE.Bus devices will NOT save the setting automatically!
You have to backup and reapply the settings manually!

Except there's nothing in the VE.Bus app note about *how* to save and restore the settings... :-(

VC will warn you and it allows you to download the config and to upload it again through the settings tab.

Unfortunately demo mode doesn’t allow this to be simulated. If you connect via a mk3 with VC the options are there. Else it has to be done remotely via vrm.
