BlueSmart Chargers Temperature Compensation - Ip65

In the Victron app, the temperature compensation is listed at -16.20 mv/deg C I am confused by the negative sign. For example my battery specification recommends to add for temps above 25 C (so a float voltage of 13.50 at 25 C, at 26 C would be 13.48) and subtract for temps lower than 25 C so at 24 C would be 13.52 v and so on.
