ET340 and ABB B24 Energy Meter

Hi,

I do have an installation with an ET340 and ABB B24 energy meter on the same bus. The Cerbo GX only sees one of the meters, never both at the same time. The ET340 is used to measure a third party PV inviter while the B24 monitors total import/export (Grid Meter).


What can be the cause that only one meter is seen? I did change the address af the B24 to 2, no difference.


Why can only 2 energy meters be connected to a single RS485/USB adapter. This is extremely inconvenient.

you have to set different rs485 id's. For ET340 you can use teh Carlo Gavazzi UCS 7 - Universal Configuration Software. ABB i dont know. Default is ID 1. Change the ID from ER340 to 2 and connect rs485 parallel.

Thanks, I did change the ID (Address) from the ABB to 2 seeing that the ET340 is default 1. This should also work, but did not. Will just in case set ID of the ET340 to 2 and test then.

Nope, Noticed that Vctron recommends baud rate for ABB to be 38400 (why not set it up to 9600?) while the ET340 works on 9600. Does not make sense and is contradicting to easy bus setup. Even when changing baud rate only the ABB us currently been picked up. No ET. only other option is to have another USB dongle. This is h**l of frustrating as the methodology of a bus system is to have multiple slaves connected and not only one per bus.

Victron must wake up a bit.

Had a same problem with 2 b24 meter. Just spend an extra € 35 for an 2nd usb cable.

Because waiting for sensible solution from Victron is futile
