Why did the firmware update brick my battery monitor?

Using the non-optional firmaware update bricked my battery monitor.......why?


Bmv 712

Error 26....."device might be unusable"read the error message

Error 10 can not connect

Battery monitor now......used to work....worked this morning

Hi, I can assure you that its not bricked.

Still ofcourse this should not happen; sorry for that. What kind of phone are you using? Knowing that will help us look into it and preventing issues like this in the future.

Have you already tried using another phone; as well as any other troubleshooting tips in the VictronConnect manual?

The phone is a Pixel 1. I actually got it to successfully load. Waited several hours, unplugged the battery monitor a few times during that period, and gave it a why not try 4-5hours after initial attempt. The app then did recognize the monitor and updated the firmware without issue. Monitor now works as it did before.
