SmartSolar MPPT 100/20 battery settings for Victron Lead carbon 106Ah batteries

Hi,

I have ordered 4x106Ah Victron Lead carbon batteries that I will connect in parallel to a SmartSolar MPPT 100/20.

2x100W solar panels will be connected to the regulator.

A Victron Smart battery sense will also be connected.

What I have been able to read off the data sheet for the battery I should set:

Absorption V to 14.1V

Float V to 13.5V

But I cannot find any information regarding

  1. Re-bulk v offset
  2. Eq voltage
  3. Eq current %
  4. Tail current
  5. Temperature comp

Regards

Erik

1. preference based. The default is usually acceptable. I prefer a value that results in the resting full-charge voltage like 12.9V for an AGM battery. In your case, that would be 0.6V.

2. 14.1 or disabled.

3. default

4. typically about 2% of capacity. In your case, 424Ah * 0.02 = 8.5A

5. only valid if you have a secondary temperature source like a smart battery sense or BMV-702 or 712 with shared voltage sense enabled.

-4mV/cell/°C or -24mV/°C for a 6 cell 12V battery.
