Venus GX Tank Input

I have my current tank level sensor wired up to the boats analog gauge sensor terminal "S" and ground. Can I just jumper the S terminal to the input of the Venus GX? I don't want to damage the tank level input of the GX if it supplies its own voltage across the sender sensor resistance.

The analogue guage will present a Voltage to the Venus (and the Venus will have its own Voltage source too). The two will interfere with one another and produce false readings at best.

I got a response back from Victron support and they stated that input is powered using a 5V supply.
