How to keep balanced a 4S2P with 8 Victron Gel 12V 220Ah batteries without performing equalization regularly ?

In this second solution, wether batterie balancer should be used, each battery string will need battery balancer

You really should use battery balancers. You can get by with 3 balancers, it should be documented in the balancer’s install manual.
We have a few installs just like this, works well.

thanks for the wiring schematic. It confirms that batteries should be parallelized before to be serialized.
What about the equalization process for Gel Batteries ? Please could you confirm Gel Batteries should not be equalized and the only way to keep bank balanced is batterie balancer?
