Absorption Time

I have a second question. Smart Solar 150/45. Adaptive charging, Max Absoption 2:30. Tail Current 2 amps, Absorption Voltage 28.20. Kilovault Carbon AGM (2100). Yesterday cloudy, bulked for 5 hours and absorbed for 4:18 ??? Way past the set point for duration.

Adaptive charging alters absorption time.

See the manuals setting explained section.

When enabled: The length of the absorption stage is different each day, it adapts itself to the state of charge of the battery in morning at the beginning of the charge cycle. The maximum "adaptive" absorption time for the day is determined by the battery voltage as measured just before the solar charger begins operation each morning. When enabled: The length of the absorption stage is different each day, it adapts itself to the state of charge of the battery in morning at the beginning of the charge cycle. If you want it less then set it to fixed.

Bulk and absorption are the same target voltage, so at the end of the day it is about how much amperage the charger was putting in.

Maybe put the tail current at 4%. That represents 7.2 amps on your bank. 2% is a bit tight to be detecting charged correctly.
