Can we short the two negative terminals on an Isolated Orion DC-DC Converter/Charge Controller, thus forcing Non-Isolation (i.e. use it in a common grounded-dual battery system)?

Similarly, the two + terminals might also be tied together (as long as its either-or but not both)?

Not sure what you mean. Maybe sketch the proposed wiring diagram.

It's OK to connect the outputs in parallel to increase current to a battery bank for example, wiring the outputs of two 10A units would make a 20A charger. Assuming both have same settings.
