EasySolar 24/3000/70-50--MPPT150/70 exiting absorption stage too early

@Guy Stewart (Victron Energy Staff)

@Margreet Leeftink (Victron Energy Staff)

1] EasySolar SAPS w/- 24v/666Ah/c10 batt'. Batt' manufacturer's specs require 3hr absorption

1a]MPPT always exits Absorption stage after 1hr - when set point is 3hrs - regardless of solar pv conditions

2] system energy usage = no daytime load/battery consumption = 2.6hrs nightly/1.80kw load, load disconnected @ 68%soc.

2a] have tried increasing to 60%soc over extend period still only 1hr Absorption

3] MPPT & multi firmware upgrade and battery settings rechecked 21/01/2019

any ideas & or solution??

Cheers

Hi Mobi. Your mppt is 'fine tuning' your manufacturer's recommendations. Should it do that? is for you to decide. This is old, but these things don't change much: https://www.victronenergy.com/upload/documents/Adaptive_charging_how_it_works.pdf

See here too (roll to Absorption Time Limit): https://www.victronenergy.com/live/victronconnect:mppt-solarchargers

You'd need to add kit to your Easy to adjust that (for now). I wouldn't worry myself..
