Quattro charge repeatedly declining to passthru

Off grid with generator as sole charging

A situation has developed whereby we have been consistently experiencing on charging that the charge rate starts off as expected at 7kw but every time depletes (whilst still in bulk mode and way before absorption voltage is reached) gradually until it reaches under 1kw and then goes to passthru mode.

We have no ESS activated.

The only way to clear this situation is to restart the VE bus and then it goes back into full charging but then repeats the same cycle, reducing to under 1kw and then goes to passthru.

All settings have been reviewed and tweaked up and down and back and fore but the scenario continues.

Obviously we want the system to maintain the charge rate at the appropriate level and then expect to see the rate fall as it approached absorption, maintain the voltage at absorption and then go to float.

Would any kind person out there have any idea why this fault id apparent?

What are your charge settings (voltage etc) vs what is happening on the charge?

Do you have the wind/solar priority option checked?

We're using the appropriate settings for charging flooded lead acid batteries, absorption 57.6V and charge rate 106 amps as recommended by the battery supplier. The charge starts out as normal when generator connected but gradually depletes into passthru over the space of about 20 minutes, obviously way before reaching anywhere near absorption voltage. Either we need to reset VE Bus or turn off the inverter and back on again to clear the passthru, Then it goes through the same (depleting to passthru) cycle again.

It's an all Victron system with no other charging input apart from the AC generator (Quattro as detailed above, no solar, no wind).. so I don't understand what solar/wind priority option you are asking about?

Has anyone else out there had similar issues? That is when Passthru kicks in and it's not even a required feature of the system that we're using? Thanks in advance for any ideas!

It would be interesting to know from someone at Victron what is the list of situations that initiates Passthru? Then I could work through the list to see what or which might be causing my problem..

Could it be DC ripple? Someone suggested that to me
