Battery Connect to cut MPPT charging

After determining (I think!) that I can't cut charging via the Venus, I've gone down another road where I am planning to use a Battery Protect in between my MPPT charger and the battery. I was planning on using the BMV's relay to turn take the battery in and out via the Battery Protect.

Now, however, I see warnings about "The Battery Protect is not designed for reverse currents from charging sources." I was planning on hooking this up so the the load side (out) was the battery and the charge side (in) was the MPPT.

Is this advised or is the Battery Connect problematic for this use case?

I'm planning on installing tomorrow, so any immediate help would be appreciated.

Yes that should work fine and is similar to the setup in the VW Van.

So isolating the mppt solar controller from the battery while the solar panels are still connected to the controller does not damage the controller ?
