I have purchased 1 x Victron 100AH battery for my caravan and will be installing over the weekend, as I only have the single battery do I still need to carry out the first charge at 5 amps? Also should I disable the solar MPPT until it’s received it’s first full charge?
I would still charge at the 5A as recommended.
This charge current allows the cell balancers to balance the cells more comfortably. Once fully charged, all cells should all be balanced at the same Voltage.
If you charge with too high current, the cell balancers can't bypass enough current if a cell goes high early, which is more likely on the initial charge.
