LiPo battery HR36 and Orion-Tr Smart

Sailing on a HR36 (built around 2002 simple alternator on a Volvo diesel). LiPo 12v 180 amp just installed and was recommended and bought an Orion-Tr Smart. The onboard battery charging was controlled by the original HR switchable blocking diodes to the service and engine batteries. Should the diodes be isolated when connecting the Orion-TR. At the moment the Orion-Tr is only connected to the LiPo service side, realise this is not ideal or optimum. Would welcome any advice on best practice.

Not sure what the blocking diodes do, but the Orion can go straight to the alternator, assuming the alternator is also charging a starter battery.

The blocking diodes prevent the services battery and engine battery sets from balancing each other hence preventing a duff battery from draining a good battery.
