My new Multiplus II 12/5000 seems to have a VE.BUS Problem.
I’ve tried almost everything, including adjusting the Settings .
I can’t establish a CConnection via MK3 and USB-C to my Mobile Device (VictronConnect) or PC (USB-A). It connects to my Microsoft Surface, but the settings aren’t visibl e.
Even when I connect the Multiplus (VE.BUS) to the Cerbo, it shows up as “unknown” in the Device li st.
What could be the problem? Should I urgently configure my Multiplus for Lithium Batter ies?
You have to enable settings and probably update it as well.
It would be helpful to know what firmware you may be on, also mentioned in the manual is the minimum requirement for using Victron Connect
I really need to charge the Lithium Batteries. Is there another way?
For example, with the VE.Bus Smart Dongle, there is no admin or installer mode for the full MultiPlus settings.

You seem to have bitten off more than you can chew.
Go to https://www.victronenergy.com/where-to-buy and find a regional supplier who can help.
You can mail the local area manager for pointers as well - Contact - Victron Energy

Language challenges aside, this just doesn’t seem like something that can be done remotely.
Guys, Puerto Williams is the southernmost town in Chile, the starting place for a lot of Antarctic adventures… I’m sure Hubert’s nearest Victron expert is a thousand km away, or it’s him! His handle means he is circumnavigating the world.
@weltumsegeln perhaps we could figure out what is wrong with the MK3 to PC/Surface connection, and once that works, then move on to the Multiplus.
Disconnect the Multiplus from the Cerbo, and then let’s set up the MK3 on a Windows computer.
Does the MK3 show up in the Windows Device Manager, under Ports (COM & LPT)? If it has a yellow triangle /!\ there is an error - check what the error says. Here’s what a working MK3 looks like:
The multi has 1 vebus interface that has two parallel connectors.
Did you disconnect the Cerbo GX? You cannot use the mk3 and GX simultaneously.
Make sure you have no overlapping com ports on windows and to manually choose the right interface in veconfigure - do not use auto.
I would encourage you to rather repost this in the German speaking section where it may be easier to guide in your natural language.
