Welcome to the Victron Community
This is a place to ask questions, share ideas and learn from each other. Beginners, enthusiasts and experienced professionals are all welcome.
Most answers come from volunteers, so please be patient and give the community time to help. For official support, warranty enquiries or help with an installation, follow the Victron support process.
Be welcoming and respectful
Help others feel comfortable asking questions, whatever their experience or first language. Disagreement is welcome; explain your reasoning and discuss the idea without attacking the person.
Feel free to write in the language you’re most comfortable using. The community automatically translates between seven languages: English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and Turkish.
Personal attacks, harassment, discrimination, impersonation, politics and spam have no place here.
Help others to help you
- Search existing topics and check the relevant documentation first. If something is unclear, it’s fine to ask.
- Use a descriptive title, choose the appropriate category and add relevant tags.
- Keep each topic focused on one issue. Related follow-up questions belong in the same discussion; a different issue needs a new topic.
- Include relevant equipment, firmware, symptoms and what you’ve already tried. Clear photos, diagrams and logs can help.
- Share the outcome and mark the reply that solved your problem.
Avoid duplicate posts and repeated requests for attention. Please give other members an opportunity to respond before tagging Victron staff.
Share knowledge honestly
Explain what you know from experience, link to documentation where useful, and say when you’re unsure or suggesting something to test. Helpful corrections and additional information are welcome, even after a topic is solved.
Credit other people’s work and share their content only when you have permission.
Keep the conversation human
This community is a place for people to collaborate, share experience and learn from each other. Write in your own words and keep posts clear, conversational and focused.
Please don’t use AI writing tools to turn a simple question or reply into a long, formal document. Extra length, repetition and unnecessary background make discussions harder to follow and discourage others from joining in.
Don’t post AI-generated questions, code or answers. We value your own observations, understanding and experience.
Keep discussions in the right place
The community focuses on equipment, troubleshooting, ideas and practical experience. For a complete system design or installation assessment, work with your installer or distributor.
Post development projects, custom integrations and hardware changes in Modifications, and clearly describe any modifications or unsupported components. Please keep detailed code discussions, bug reports and issue tracking on GitHub, linking to them from your community topic.
Development projects shared here should be for personal use and learning, not commercial gain. Please don’t use the community to recruit customers, promote paid services or solicit members through posts or private messages.
Keep pricing, purchases, refunds and dealer disputes with the businesses involved. Dealer concerns can also be directed to a Victron regional sales manager. Advertising and unsolicited sales messages aren’t welcome.
For product availability and release announcements, check the Victron blog, published product information or your distributor. The community cannot confirm unpublished dates.
Protect privacy and put safety first
Posts are public. Remove passwords, access tokens, personal details and sensitive information from screenshots and logs. Don’t share someone else’s private information without permission.
Community advice is not checked or approved by Victron. Have electrical work supervised by a qualified technician, and seek professional help when you’re unsure.
Moderation and community feedback
Flag inappropriate, unsafe or spam content for moderator review rather than escalating the discussion.
Topics and replies that don’t align with these guidelines may be moved, edited, closed or removed. Moderators may ask you to clarify or revise a post. Serious or repeated breaches may lead to posting restrictions, suspension or account removal.
Please use one account per person. Multiple accounts are not permitted.
Questions about the community or these guidelines can be posted in Community Feedback. If you have a concern about a moderation decision, you can request a review there too.
You can also request account removal in Community Feedback. If your account is removed, your contributions will remain available to keep discussions useful, but will be anonymised.
Thanks for contributing and helping others learn.
